SKILLED SERVICES
The VNA reaches out to every member of the community and provides the types of services that will assist a recuperating, disabled or ill person to get well in the comfort of their home. Most skilled services are provided on a short-term basis and are managed under a care plan approved by a licensed physician.
Skilled Nursing Services
- In-home physical assessments, including specialized assessment skills for geriatric patients
- Catheter care and instructions
- Ostomy evaluation, care and instructions
- Medication instructions and administration to improve compliance
- Complete diabetic education and instructions
- Wound care management and education
High-Tech Services
- Venipunctures
- ABGs
- IV therapy
- Chemotherapy administration
Maternal Child Health Specialty Program
- Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner on staff
- Child-focused services include: apnea/bradycardia monitor instruction, home phototherapy, IV therapy, NG and gastrostomy feeding, respiratory assessment and nebulizer instruction, and venipuncture
- Prenatal and postpartum assessment and instruction
- In-home instructions on well baby/child care and monitoring of pediatric nutrition
Behavioral Health Program
- Assessment and evaluation of behavioral disturbances.
- Liaison for complex psychosocial situations interfering with medical plan of care.
- Symptom management training for major psychiatric disorders.
- Deep relaxation and imagery training for stress and pain management.
- Brief supportive psychotherapy with affective, anxiety, somatization, and post trauma disorders.
Medical Social Services
- Assessment of social and emotional factors interfering with medical regimen.
- Short-term therapy.
- Assistance with long-term planning.

Home Health Aide Services
- Personal care
- Light housekeeping
- Assistance with activities of daily living to assist clients with managing their skilled care plan.
Nutritional Services
- Assessment of nutritional needs
- Individualized instruction on special diet
- Evaluation and instruction by registered dietitian
