PRIVATE DUTY SERVICES

For more specialized, long-term care, the Visiting Nurse Association of Central Pennsylvania offers Private Duty Services.  The services are available for elderly persons requiring assistance to remain in their home, parents returning home from the hospital after surgery, or an illness, adults with chronic illness, mothers with newborn, and others who need help with personal care, special assistance or companionship.

These services can be tailored to meet your needs and some of these include:

  • A certified aide to assist with personal care such as bathing and grooming, light housekeeping, laundry, and meal preparation
  • A companion to help with running errands or providing companionship
  • A licensed nurse for your ongoing medical needs

Lifeline Personal Response System

  • Assistance available 24 hours a day in the event of an emergency
  • The system consists of:
    • Personal transmitter to signal for help
    • Help console that signals the Lifeline Response Center
    • A trained operator who will talk to you through the Help console and obtain assistance if necessary
  • Provides security for the elderly, recuperating patients, people with chronic illness, people who are physically challenged, those living alone, and latch key children
