History: Hospice: The Bridge was established in 1979 as a service of Lewistown Hospital. Home Health services were added ten years later, when it became apparent that there was a growing need for health care services in patients’ homes. In May of 2009, our agency became a part of the VNA (Visiting Nurse Association) Health System. Our transition from a hospital department to a part of a larger Health System went very smoothly, largely because most of our experienced staff remained with the agency when the transition was made. In addition, we found that the VNA Health System is committed to the same standards, and to providing quality care to all in need, regardless of ability to pay.
