Caring for you in the Comfort of Your Home...
In 1899, a typhoid epidemic broke out in the Harrisburg area. A concerned community-minded woman, Mrs. A.P.L. Dull, hired a nurse to go into the homes and teach families how to cope with such an illness and how to avoid infection. This was the beginning of the Visiting Nurse Association of Central Pennsylvania (VNA) and their rich history of service to those in the community who need home care. Since that first day in 1899, the VNA has provided high quality home care to families and the community regardless of race, sex, age, creed or socio-economic status. In this regard, we have provided services to thousands upon thousands of families throughout south central Pennsylvania over the years.
